Sisa Namandje Announces Sponsorships & Donations
This week, the law firm of Sisa Namandje & Co Inc announced a sponsorship of N$ 300 000.00 to NFA (Namibia Football Association) which will be paid over a period of 3 years with the first payment being made on or before 15 January 2025. The sponsorship is aimed to assist with activities of the third division teams and uplift football from the ground up. Announcing the donation on behalf of the law firm, Senior Director Sisa Namandje stated that the law firm is committed to building football as a social sport and an economic activity. He added that he hopes that other law firms will also come on board and provide assistance where needed in this development.
Accepting the donation on behalf of the NFA, President Robert Shimoshili welcomed the generous gesture and indicated that the new NFA leadership is committed to building a reputable repore for football in Namibia while living up to international standards but ensuring that players have adequate facilities and qualified referees for all matches. He further encouraged others within the legal fraternity to come on board and partner with the NFA in this journey.
Other sponsorships announced were an amount of N$ 100 000 from the Law Firm to the Sisa Namandje Law Foundation to continue its Corporate Social Responsibility projects for 2025 and a donation of N$ 103 000.00 from Mr Namandje in his personal capacity to the children of Oshikulu Village where Sisa Namandje grew up. Mr Namandje indicated that he requested through the headman of the village a list of all the homesteads in the village and each homestead/household will receive N$ 1000.00 in January to assist with school related expenses of the children in those homesteads in January as the new school year commences. He stated that the selection is based on where he grew up and giving back to the village that made him. He further acknowledged that while Government has made significant contributions to various communities across the country, the children of Oshikulu experience some of the social challenges he experienced growing up and this donation is meant alleviate some of their challenges. Accepting the donation on behalf of the villagers, Tonateni Shidhudhu who also hails from Oshikulu thanked Mr Namandje for his generosity and believes that the donation will inspire the young children in their educational journey.
The last donation announced is an amount of N$ 10 000.00 made to a community football team in Iikunino Village at Omutsegonime.
